2014-05-15: Oil on canvas, 9”x12”
Here is one of my still life studies for Painting II. It’s a metaphor for wrath for those people who lose their tempers and through things, and end up breaking something beautiful. Like flowers… or feelings perhaps? FIne are influence :p

2014-05-08: Final completed for critique. Got an A, yay!
I’ve gotten several requests for prints or maybe t-shirts, so I will go forward with the list of improvements once I finish up my finals. It’s really exciting to have people enjoy one of my projects so much. I am so happy! Updates to follow in the next week or two.
Thanks for Tumbling with me!

I thought it might be interesting to show people what my main work area looks like. Last night I stepped back from my desk and thought, geez! This photo captures that busy, in progress feel. Ideas and fancies coming out the ears :)

Despite the appearance, it is actually organized in an effective way for myself and is purposeful. On the front wall, the upper area has things that inspire me or remind my why I do what I’m doing. The lower front wall has all my stuff related to my current project. It’s like a wall sized whiteboard. The right wall has all my “to do” items, lists and reminders.

The next picture is what my space looks like between projects so you get an idea of how things are generally kept tidy. I actually have a hard time starting any new projects until I’ve cleaned up and organized after the last one, so I always have an emotionally clear space to start in.

As a side note, I’m going to work on the ergonomics of my studio over the summer. My posture is suffering and therefore my back and shoulders are complaining, a lot. Also I want to rearrange things some. More work space and less shelves.

Thanks for Tumbling with me :)

Feb 11, 2014. Black Prismacolor Pencil on Coquille Paper.
Since I have been woefully bad at posting, I am starting to go through stuff from this semester that I felt met the assignment criteria and was something I felt good about. :)
Thanks for Tumbling with me.

March 11, 2014. Watercolor wash in the background, prismacolor color pencil for the flower. This was an assignment from my rendering class. The picture isn’t so good. I need a new scanner. You get it though, right? :)

I’ve haven’t been posting enough…

It seems that I haven’t been posting enough, losing my audience! Acknowledged. I’ll step it up! Yeah!
